That is really exciting! But just how far can you plan in advance can you book your next trip and what if the next years pricing has not been announced yet?
Technically, you can book a Walt Disney World Vacation 499 prior to your arrival date at the Walt Disney World Resort. But there are a few things you should take note of. You may only book this far in advance when calling the Disney reservation hotline, online booking is not an option. When booking this far in advance, you will only be able to reserve your room reservation. You will be required to put down a security deposit. Also, the price that you are quoted will not be the price you will pay. The price you are quoted will be the rate in which year you have booked. So you can expect to pay more, each year there is always a price increase.
Walt Disney World normally releases their pricing for the next year in late summer, so just keep your eyes out for that announcement. When the prices are released you may then go ahead and add your park tickets to your existing room reservation and get a final price quote!
When you are 180 days out from your check in date you may book your dining reservations! If Disney dining is a big part of your Walt Disney vacation, you want a lot of character meals or nice sit down restaurants, I highly encourage you to be up early that day, have your dining reservation planned out on paper and call or book online as soon as the hotline opens in the morning! You will be surprised how fast these restaurants book up in the morning! We make a party out of it. We take our plan and head out to breakfast and we are on our phones and eating and just having a really great time!
I have planned out and reserved a Walt Disney World vacation package anywhere from over a year in advance to a little under a month. Both times I have been super happy with the outcome, it just depends on the type of vacation you want to have! If you have your heart set on a certain resort during peak season go ahead and book as soon as possible!
One other thing to keep in mind when booking a Walt Disney Vacation is if there is a special such as a room discount or free dining during your travel dates, it WILL NOT be automatically applied to your reservation. You are more than entitled to the promotion but you have to call and add it on yourself!
