On my latest trip to Walt Disney World I planned for us to have lunch at the Fairfax Fare while we were at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I had never stopped to eat there before so I was certainly excited!

The menu consists of a variety of different options, much different than your burger and fries! If you are on the Disney Dining Plan and are looking to maximize the value of your credit, check this out! The Chicken and Spareribs on the menu is over $15, plus you get a drink and a dessert. Wow!
My Mother and Husband both decided to go with the Chicken and Spareribs platter. You can see there is a healthy portion of both meats and a side of baked beans and a side of coleslaw. The chicken and ribs were both very good. The meat had a smokey flavor but it wasn’t over the top. Needless to say this is a messy lunch option so be sure to have plenty of napkins on hand! I would say the Chicken and Spareribs platter is terrific, especially if you are a meat lover!
From the moment I decided we should try the Fairfax Fare for lunch (long before our trip) I had decided I wanted to try the Macaroni and Cheese and Truffle Oil Hot Dog. This dog is big! You must get napkins and a fork to scoop up all the deliciousness that will be falling off your hot dog. The Macaroni and Cheese Truffle Oil hot dog is so much more than it sounds plus it has bacon on it. Yep, bacon on a hot dog — with mac and cheese. Hello. Its good. Really. Really. Good. The Mac and Cheese is creamy and soft, much like a cafeteria style. The bacon gives it a little crunch and the truffle oil was great! The oil was not overpowering by any means but you could tell it was there. And lets not forget the hot dog. It was great too! Really this was so good I have had dreams about it. I will be trying to recreate a version at home to tide me over.
The kids menu options are okay. They offer mac and cheese, turkey sandwich, PB&J, or the kids power pack lunch. My daughter went with the Power Pack lunch and we could not have been happier. For one my daughter is picky about what she eats. Now that doesn’t mean she eats just junk but she has some type of texture issue with foods.. I don’t know. So everything in this box we knew she would like! There was string cheese, gold fish, yogurt, carrots and dip, a cookie and a drink. Everything my little girl likes to snack on! Perfect for a lunch for her at Walt Disney World! Loved it!
My whole group enjoyed eating at Fairfax Fare at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The only downside is you have to sit outside and eat, which on a hot day can just not be very much fun. But if you find a shady spot, which most of the tables in the area have umbrellas you will be fine!
I recommend giving the Fairfax Fare a try for a counter service lunch or dinner the next time you are at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There was at least 2 things on the menu that interested everyone. I was surprised at just how good it was and am kicking myself for not trying it sooner. I am counting down the days until I can enjoy another Mac and Cheese topped hot dog here!
