The newest restaurant at Magic Kingdom, Be Our Guest, isn’t set to open for another month or so, November 19 to be exact. However, Disney is giving us an inside look at the all new childrens menu. The menu features some off the beat items for kid options at Walt Disney World. Chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers didn’t quite make the cut here.
Disney said the options will allow kids to dine like the adults but the flavors of the menu will still be kid friendly. ”We’re making the ketchup from scratch using carrots,” said Walt Disney World Executive Chef Lenny DeGeorge. “And the meatloaf also has vegetables and bulghur wheat, so kids are getting their vegetables and whole grains and don’t even realize it.”
The menu will include Mickey shaped turkey meatloaf, turkey sandwiches on multigrain bread with sweet potato wedges. Pulled pork and Mahi-Mahi are also on this childrens menu accompanied by cucumber sticks, sweet potato mash or a grape tomato salad. The kids meals also come with milk, bottled water, or apple juice. Dessert will be a bit amped up from the normal ice cream sundae – kids will be able to choose from fancy cupcakes or cream puffs just like the adults!
What do you think? Will your kids enjoy dining at the new Be Our Guest Restaurant? I am on the fence about dinner at Be Our Guest as a whole and this new childrens menu isn’t helping that. On the other hand I am totally excited for the lunch offerings here at Be Our Guest! I am looking forward to the restaurant opening and hearing some reviews as well as checking it out for myself!
