Disney Dining Plan – Snacks

I’m pretty sure we all love snacks!  From itty bitty children all the way up to adults, it is hard to resist an incredible snack!  The Disney Dining Plan recognizes our urge to snack and rewards it with some really yummy treats!

This is the Disney Dining snack logo.  Any item on a menu board that this logo is next to, you may use one snack credit for the purchase of it.  When looking at the Walt Disney World website, it is a little vague on the snack portion of the plan.  Here is an example of what the website states that qualifies as a snack –

  • 1 frozen ice cream novelty, Popsicle, fruit bar, popcorn scoop (single-serving box), single-serving bag of snacks, single piece of whole fruit, 20-oz. bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Dasani water, 22-oz. fountain soft drink or juice, 12-oz. coffee, hot chocolate or hot tea, single-serving prepackaged milk or juice

Now here is where you have to be careful!  Every item listed as an example option on the snack list, however, is one of the cheapest items your snack credits can purchase.  Truth be told, there are many many many more options than we see listed above.  Pretty much any single food item listed $4 and under qualifies as a snack credit.

My first trip using the Disney Dining Plan for the first few days I had no idea that snacks were not restricted to bottles of pop and popcorn.  I hate to say it but we wasted our snack credits that year by simply not knowing.  Here is my suggestion to you… Get yourself a soft cooler.  Pack bottles of water, cans of pop, and juice boxes you have prebought at your local grocery store.  Even if you are not in a room with a refrigerator you can still ice these drinks down the night before.  Pack your drinks for the day at the park.  DO NOT waste your snack credits on a bottle of water when you could get a ham and cheese croissant in France.

HERE is a link to over 49 pages of snacks you can use with just 1 snack credit…YES over 49 pages!!!  Print this list out.  Study it, highlight it.  Know where to get your best value at!!  That is where the saving comes in for the Disney Dining Plan when you are prepared!

I have about 100 things highlighted on my print out lol..I am only staying for 9 days so I think I am going to have to scale back a bit! :)  A few items on my list are a Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom, Chicken Fried Rice at Animal Kingdom, Waffles topped with Strawberry Syrup in Epcot and so much more.  I will be packing drinks and enjoying tasty midday snacks at Walt Disney World!  What about you?  What is your plan for your next vacation?  Will you be packing drinks and splurging on indulgences like me?  Let me know how you roll with the Disney Dining Plan!
